Been testing the early access Mass Effect Andromeda and the frame rates aren’t great—around 30 on medium settings but with some dips. Anyone think switching the GTX 950 to a Core i7 920 instead of the Athlon 860K would help? The i7 should give more power. Any suggestions welcome! Cheers

It's difficult to pinpoint exactly how much GPU usage is happening while playing. Upgrading to an i7 might help, but it could also depend on other factors affecting performance.

Hi there, I'll give it a shot. GPU usage hit 100%, but it could be worth switching to Pascal or GCC 4.

Reading only GameSpot reviews and ignoring e.t.C suggests the game needs significant improvements, quite a bit of work is required.

I'll share cinebench, valley, heaven, geekbench and 3d mark scores for both CPUs at stock levels, plus the potential overclocking distance after work tonight. Check the GPU impact—if not an RX 470, it should be available soon and I'll update how Mass Effect runs. Cheers!

Quick update: Testing Mass Effect Andromeda on an overclocked 860k at 4.5 ghz showed GPU usage around 40-45%. I’ll check the i7 performance later and update tomorrow. Cheers!
