Compare Gigabyte B550M DS3H and GIGABYTE A520 Aorus Elite models.
I’m setting up a brand new PC and have already picked some components. My CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600X. For the motherboard, I need an AM4 socket. While browsing, I found two options: GIGABYTE B550M DS3H and GIGABYTE A520 Aorus Elite. It’s my first build, so I’m not sure which one is better, even though I’m hoping someone can advise me! I welcome any thoughts or suggestions from the community.
Choose the 5600 instead of the 5600X for a cheaper price, reduced power usage, cooler temps, and similar performance. Consider the Ryzen 5600X3D if you need a few weeks. For the motherboard, B550 models typically offer more expansion ports and improved voltage control with more choices.
For an ATX board, consider the B550 MSI B550 GAMING GEN3 AM4 Motherboard (B550 GAMING GEN3). If you're comfortable with this model, the Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE Micro ATX AM4 is also a solid choice, though it lacks some features and I/O options.
While reviewing the comparison between 5 5600 and 5 5600X, I noticed the 5600X offers a 0.2GHz higher base frequency, providing at least a slight improvement. The price difference is roughly around 20$ in my local currency. Honestly, if you need that extra performance, you could allocate those 20$ toward more RAM upgrades. Any recommendations on what to do with it?
