I can swap her old FX 8150 for a Ryzen CPU, but it won’t improve much since she mainly plays casual games and watches shows. It might not be worth it unless you notice performance gains.

Minecraft should* benefit from FX8150, also unless you got another use for FX8150, its better than letting it sit imo. *Not entirely sure if Java version does without some tricks.

She’s got a solid PSU and motherboard ready to go—this 8 series setup packs a lot of power without being overwhelming. It’s definitely an upgrade, but worth it.

Minecraft runs on just two cores, but the other two in your 8150 could ease system strain. The FX series isn’t exactly what it was advertised—CPU modules share resources, while the FX-8150 acts more like a quad-core with hyperthreading. I’m moving away from my 6300 as soon as the Ryzen 3600 is on sale. Still, I’d recommend it if her PSU can handle the extra 30 watts. She’ll be slower in single-core tasks because the 4300 is a 3800 MHz chip while the 8150 runs at 3600 MHz.

Thanks in advance! It looks like your PSU and motherboard should handle the 8150, so I’ll go ahead and make the change.
