In Hwinfo you already have core temperatures and averages. The CCD1 spikes sometimes to 78 during loading but your cores don’t reach that level. When using Prim95 or Cinebench you see around 68-72. 1) Should I focus more on core temps or the CCD1 reading? 2) Why does stressing the CPU with Cinebench or Prime95 bring temps down to 68-72, but loading or downloading causes a quick jump to 78? You’d expect the same when you stress the CPU?

The CPU package holds the processor chips and keeps them cooler because it's positioned farther from the main heat source. For precise readings, check Tdie. However, when running continuously, the CPU cooler will increase its output, unlike during abrupt tasks such as booting up the system.

That's what I expected after all the stress tests—temperatures are stable. However, when running programs or downloading games, I notice sudden spikes up to 78. It’s puzzling why Cinebench and Prime95 don’t reach 78–80, but my desktop speeds up quickly during tasks like loading many files or downloading a game at 1GB/s.

The component with the red line usually gets less focus. The one with the green line is the one I expect to show a spike up to 78. Core temperatures shown in pink won’t reach that number. My color labels aren’t displaying properly—red means CPU(TCTL/TDIE), green means CPU CCD1(TDIE), and pink indicates core temps.

A jump of 78 isn't especially significant. Wait for a steady high in the 80s, then you'll need to be concerned. Temporary hits at 78 aren't too big an issue.

In this setup my processor temperatures were noticeably lower compared to the AI suites CPU package (bottom showing CPU 36, motherboard 37, CPU Package 42).

The heatpipes are responding to the conditions.

Hey there! I wasn’t really concerned about the temperature rise, more about how the spike would affect the desktop when loading things. During full load, I wouldn’t exceed 72°C. Someone just said it might be different under full load, but it doesn’t seem to happen while the desktop is running normally.
