Looking into recent feedback for CIV 6 on Steam shows varied opinions. Some players advise against playing it, while others share experiences with Civ 5 DLC or the base game version. Would you like tips on which editions might suit your preferences?

Base Civ 5 is enjoyable, just like Base 6, and I’d love to hear what my friend thinks after putting in more effort.

Civ v +dlc is easier to handle. I own both, but I spent a lot more time on V than on VI. When VI gets a lot of dlc, the situation might shift.

Civ 6 is just released, and they often release many expansions that greatly enhance the experience. (Civ 5 at launch wasn’t as impressive as Civ 4 Beyond the Sword) If you need to invest, go for Civ 6—though I recall purchasing a Civ 5 Deluxe version for $10 CAD on Steam some time ago.

Well I don't feel like waiting for a summer sale and it seems like I'm not going wrong with 6.

I suggest playing Civilization V since it offers more features and improved AI. It might become even better once all the DLC for Civilization VI is released.

I suggest Civ5. I've played this series from the start, and Civ 5 is the top choice. Civ Beyond Earth and Civ 6 aren't great in my opinion. I'm not surprised, Civ 4 wasn't that strong either, so hopefully Civ 7 will combine the best of both. Just have to wait a few years for that...
