I have a PC equipped with a Ryzen 7 2700, B450 motherboard, and GTX 1060. I'm evaluating whether it's better to build a completely new AM5 system or upgrade the current one, aiming for stable 144fps in games such as Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Fragpunk at low settings. Since I won't be replacing my monitor soon, I'm considering if investing in a new AM5 build or purchasing something like the 5700X3D with RTX 3070/4060 makes sense, especially given my budget of around 800USD. From both a tech and financial perspective—measured in efficiency and cost—I'd like advice on what's most sensible.

Tell me your budget, the country where you're based, and your monitor resolution.

I would consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 (non X) along with 32GB of DDR4-3200 CL16 memory initially.

Games are constrained by the capabilities of the CPU or GPU.
Try this basic experiment:
Lower your resolution and quality settings.
This lessens the workload the GPU must handle. Play YOUR games.
If performance noticeably improves, you can upgrade to a more powerful GPU.
Your 600w PSU might restrict your options.
Alternatively, if performance remains unchanged, consider upgrading the CPU.
A 5000 series processor would be straightforward

I would recommend a standard 5700x motherboard, a more reliable power supply unit, and a GPU that matches your budget. A possible setup could be around this range. Current GPU prices are quite low.

Thank you all for your feedback and ideas.
I now see that there are possibilities to extend my AM4 build for a year or more.
Regarding the second question, would it make sense to upgrade to an AM5 PC if I increase my budget to 1300-1500USD?
