Compare black screen performance on OC CPU models
I boosted my CPU clock speed to 3.8ghz and noticed these dark screens during Blender benchmarking. I’m not sure what causes them, but I know the voltage settings are correct. I’ve also updated XMP profiles, adjusted BIOS settings, and increased the clock speed. It still runs smoothly at around 3.7ghz, and my cooler can handle it well (up to 41°C in-game). Hardware: Ryzen 1700, motherboard Gigabyte B450M-GAMING-rev-1, PSU 950W, GPU GT 1030.
I’d stop at 1.4100v for the core. It’s hard to tell exactly where you are, so I can’t confirm if it’s safe.
After utilizing Blender for benchmarking, the outcomes observed on the hardware monitor were as follows.
That's a solid start. It seems like the first generation doesn't typically feature 4GHz+ chips. You'll need to continue experimenting to discover your boundaries through testing. Great progress overall!
It doesn't matter much to compare 3.9ghz and 4ghz. Focus on the reliable options and gradually increase the memory speed for better performance.
I was dealing with stability problems even at 3.9 GHz, but it turned out the issue was voltage in Cinebench. Raising it to +0.253 helped things a lot, though the black screen still occurs when one minute is left. The Bois warning about dynamic voltage increases risking CPU damage above 0.204 volts is a big concern. I also adjusted the Dram voltage to 1.35, not sure if that’s the right choice but trying different things. If you’re talking about RAM frequency, are you only setting it to 3600 MHz?
