The B550 chipset includes extra 8x PCIe 3.0 lanes plus two more lanes for PCIe 3.0 on the board or SATA, meaning those two lanes can go to either two SATA ports or an M.2 slot—allowing the motherboard to choose between them. Manufacturers are allowed to assign these lanes as they prefer.

It seems the B550 board supports PCIe 4.0. (All components beyond the chipset, such as SATA drives, will use PCIe 3.0)
