Hello everyone, I'm looking for advice on choosing a motherboard for my PC. I have a Ryzen 9 5900X and an Radeon RX580 8GB card. I mostly play eSports games like CS:GO and VALORANT, edit clips, and use Photoshop. My old board broke during a BIOS update and now it won't display anything. I need something reliable but don’t know which model fits well. I’ve heard the X570 isn’t available for m-ATX, while the B550 seems solid for gaming and streaming. The AM4 platform is nearing its end, but prices haven’t fallen much. Any suggestions on whether to go with a B550 or an X570?
How many PCIe gen 4 NVMe SSDs do you own? If you have just one, the B550 will suffice. Unless you require the additional USB ports offered by the X570, the B550 is sufficient. It also lacks active cooling for the chipset, which reduces potential failure points. If you're aiming for an MATX setup, MSI B550m Mortar, or TUF-GAMING-B550M-PLUS (the Matx variant), I personally use the MSI model. So far (about a year), it hasn't caused any issues. Both options include a BIOS flashback feature, allowing BIOS updates without needing a compatible CPU.

Interesting details here. Most B550 models begin at $100 in India, while the MSI B550m Mortar Wi-Fi is about $190. This means you could easily move into the X570 range with these prices.

I own a pair of Asus Strix boards that easily support my 5900X with PBO/CO and four B-Die sticks without any issues. The newer model came with an Asus Hyper M.2 card, which is quite convenient. It shares the same VRM configuration as the Dark Hero, making it very compact. I’m running three M.2 drives and have space for three more. I’m not relying on SATA, but I could use it if needed.
