Are you a gamer considering an CPU upgrade before the new GPU? You currently have an RTX 3070, OC gaming X OCR 8GB, and want to add a 3080 with 10GB RAM. Let me know if you need advice!

It varies by game. For online, use CPU first; for offline, use GPU. Be aware the Ryzen 7 lineup heats up quickly.

I decided to upgrade my GPU. Mostly I’ve been playing offline titles on the 3060 Ti and Ryzen 5 3600. It’s not the ideal setup and has some limitations, but I still managed to run the newest offline games in 1080p. Recently I switched to online games, and the CPU really struggled. From what I know, a 3080 needs a 750W power supply. You might be able to use it now, but if you upgrade to a stronger CPU later, consider getting a better PSU—especially if it isn’t gold rated.

This change is quite poor. 3070 to 3080? Opt for the 5800x3d instead. Consider used 4070ti, 4080, or AMD 7900 GRE/XT models. Purchasing a 3080 isn't wise. By the way, the top upgrade would be a thorough clean.

The difference between 10GB and 8GB feels minimal, especially with the 25% boost in VRAM. For smooth 4K performance, you’d likely need at least 16GB.

I wouldn't choose refurbished GPUs, but a 4080 would definitely perform much better
