@Mister Woof, keep in mind this i5 is a secured processor. FX was a mess initially but it got better later. I believe FX is actually a more worthwhile purchase now compared to that i5 because if you push the background tasks hard, the cores will be fully utilized.
It's not that simple. You can customize the FX as much as needed, but it won't instantly boost your IPC to match a Sandybridge or higher.
