I assembled my new PC and am now prepared to set up the drivers. I've seen some tutorials about steps after building a PC and they mention having both an AMD chipset driver and a motherboard-specific chipset driver. Which one should I choose?

It's... the same driver again. The issue is with the windows driver as well. Keeping it updated matters for BIOS changes, memory compatibility, and CPU performance.

They frequently promote "OEM" products, like MSI. My experience with AMD chipset drivers has been problematic—frequent crashes and freezes. MSI seems more stable for me. Of course, it depends on the motherboard. The ad files I see suggest this, but I’m not sure.

I don’t install any chipset drivers and everything functions perfectly. When one is installed, it usually comes from the Windows update. In fact, after a fresh Windows install on my Matisse, my CPU dropped to around 1.7, whereas it only went down to about 2.9 afterward. On my Matisse, there was no noticeable difference between the AMD and Asus versions.

Never experienced any problems with either, but I haven’t used MSI boards before. That means I can’t say much about the bundled software. I was referring only to the driver itself. Could you clarify which version of driver you're asking about? What was the most recent one?

Yeah, I’m not sure what they’re adding—300mb or more—but it can’t be audio drivers or something similar since that’s extra. The AMD drivers just didn’t work well for me. Apparently 2.13 is outdated because my driver is old, so I prefer not to mess with this unless the current one is fine. P.S.: The Asus X570 driver is only 51mb, but they have older versions that are bigger than the MSI ones, which makes me think it might be a bug fix, possibly reducing crashes (though not in my experience).

This situation isn't unusual when chipset updates improve performance. It's normal for some drivers to function better than others.

The download was likely adjusted to a smaller size, possibly from the AMD site, rather than being sent directly from MSI.

I think MSI's driver matches AMD's perfectly. The file size is nearly the same as the AMD version. After extraction, it's only 50mb instead of 300mb. It looks like an MSI staff member was impaired since they haven't updated their site with the AMD chipset driver size. Also, there was a time when clicking the download button for the AMD driver led to a completely different Ethernet driver. That’s some really odd behavior I’ve seen.
