So I’m really about to purchase something new. Recently, I’ve been checking out a 7950x on an Asus ProArt X670E-Creator WiFi. Now I’ve just noticed the 9950x. It’s only £100 more and should fit the same motherboard. I already have 64 GB of 5600mhz DDR5 RAM. Last time I built a PC was in 2017, so things have changed a bit. I plan to do some gaming, video editing, and writing since I’m an author. I also use Stable Diffusion for concept art. The main differences I see are that the 7950x supports 5200mhz RAM, and the 9950x is roughly 10% more efficient for tasks.
I already possess 64 GB of 5600mhz DDR5 RAM. The optimal setting for AM5's platform is DDR5-6000MHz with minimal delays. Do you have a link to your RAM package? If your RAM includes an overclocking profile, activate it in the BIOS. Also, consider the X870 chipset since you're exploring the Ryzen 9000 series processors. Motherboards using X670 and B650 chipsets will require their BIOS to be updated before running with Ryzen 9000 models.
