I own a Ryzen 5 2600 and am evaluating 2x8GB DDR4 RAM sticks. I’m trying to decide which option offers the best value. Current prices are $88.99, $92.99, and $124.99 (plus a 3466 C16 for $127.99). I want to stay under $100, but if it’s worth it, I’d go for the more expensive ones.
Newegg offered a few G.Skill 3200C14 chips for less than $110 USD. I was interested in those but chose not to opt for the cheapest shipping method. Unfortunately, the package ended up lost, and I’m now facing a delay of another ten days before receiving my refund.
I’d keep it at 3200 because that’s the typical limit for Ryzen, though I believe you can overclock and reach 3600 occasionally—your call if you want to experiment.
In the US, those costs seem too high—check out Newegg instead. Corsair RAM is significantly more expensive than GSKILL, and even worse in quality. It’s mostly about appearance.
