Maybe it does possess a memory bus around 10,000 bits if that’s what you’re seeing.

Haha, yeah. I have a GTX 980 and find my 120Hz monitor useless because games coming out lately are so unoptimised.. *cough* AC unity *cough*

30 and 60 frames per second limits are overrated, though many players struggle to maintain more than 30 or 40 fps unless they sacrifice resolution and image quality significantly.

1440p will be around in the next few years, though it's fading fast. It's definitely worth considering. By 2016, 4k will fully take over.

21:9 aligns better with the broader mainstream decisions.

I use a 27-inch 1080p screen and it works just fine for me—it’s not terrible, but it falls short compared to 1440p. My iMac, which was a 27-inch 1440p model, has since been replaced with a newer family iMac. For most users, I’d suggest going for 1440p if you can, or a 24-inch screen if you’re limited to 1080p. There are still good reasons to opt for a 27-inch 1080p display, though. The pixel density needed to avoid seeing pixels depends on how close you are to the screen. Since I often sit farther away from my racing setup, the image looks great. When playing games that don’t require intense detail—like mouse-and-keyboard titles—I can still see the pixels without it bothers me. In reality, people sometimes exaggerate the issues more than they are.

It's a fair point compared to the iMac screen. No matter the size, the iMac display offers an A+ quality panel that delivers excellent color accuracy, deep contrast, and outstanding black levels and brightness.

The chart makes sense to me. My setup is limited to 1080p monitors, but at close proximity to my 22" screens it works well. When I move further back to a 32" TV, the picture improves significantly. The chart suggests 720p should still be acceptable, which I notice isn't the case for my setup. With my 50" display at similar distance, high resolution is essential. I believe I can confidently say that using a monitor larger than about 25" in the same way would definitely benefit from 1440p.
