It seems you're questioning whether it's better to purchase components ahead of time, opt for a higher-end model like the 10700k instead of the 10600k, or buy only half of the PC parts we usually get. Maybe it's smarter to work on something while you wait.

They’re expected to cost roughly the same, so plan for a modest estimate. You’ve got a good sense of their approximate value.

i'm putting it together slowly. didn't want to spend on a 10700k if a 11700k might be coming soon, don't want to repeat what the 2080ti buyers did lol. so i got a fresh monitor, keyboard, mouse, audio interface, speakers (need a subwoofer once the pc is done). i also bought a new pc case, fans, and a desk. i was considering a new psu but everything's sold out in the higher-end section. then i thought about getting a new motherboard and cpu, but i don't want to buy if a 11700k is near.

It seems the problem relates more to managing personal finances than choosing the right Intel processor. You could entrust someone you trust with your funds until a specific date. Displaying a picture of the desired high-end device in your wallet or setting it as your phone’s background can serve as a visual reminder of your financial goals whenever you access your money through that method. These strategies aren’t guaranteed solutions, but they aim to reinforce awareness and encourage more thoughtful spending decisions.
