I possess a 4TB storage device that unexpectedly disconnected during a bulk file transfer. It appears functional only on the specific computer. The enclosure is obscured and uninspected. I understand this indicates a read-only status, even though it seems different from what users expect. I've attempted chkdsk and various solutions, including Seagate's proprietary tools. Interestingly, the drive functions perfectly on my laptop. I'm uncertain about identifying the files lost during the failure. Repairing is challenging once I can locate the damaged sectors. I've invested considerable time searching online without success. Others have managed to recover data from more severe issues. There must be a method that doesn't require formatting the disk. I don't wish to lose any information and would like to complete the fill-up to create additional space on that machine. If anyone has expertise, your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
