for an air cooler, with a budget of at least 70 bucks, the noctua NH-L9i chromax.black should work well. If you must choose from these options, the rog strix board is a solid pick despite being a b board. I believe you won’t be overclocking much with such a compact case, and the fractal ridge fits nicely in a 4090 slot. (see below.) It should suit your 2080 nicely. I checked the Noctua Lhi9 specs and it seems it struggles with the 8700k's base clock. That’s a bit surprising—did you expect more flexibility? You're right, I’m not aiming for an overclock but don’t want it to throttle too much after the I5 upgrade. Maybe I’ll keep exploring but appreciate your tip! The motherboard choice shouldn’t be a dealbreaker, just something I found interesting. Regarding the Strix board versus the Prime—there’s probably not a huge difference, but it would be cool if it worked better. As for the transport, securing the GPU seems safer than risking damage from movement. Let me know!

Looking back, I realized I had to admit something. After finally fixing HDR, I expected better performance, but it turned out RT wasn’t active. Re-enabling it with HDR caused my frame rates to plummet. I ended up lowering the resolution to 2560x1600 and turned DLSS on, while reducing AA and filtering. It works now, but I wanted to update just in case anyone saw my earlier post and thought I was planning for a 2080. HDR is much more resource-intensive than I anticipated—still a nice card, but not the high-end "4k everything" GPU I once imagined.
