Looking for a discreet cooler for your Ryzen 9 5900x? You're using a narrow fractal ridge black case and a Noctua NH-L9A-A4 fan, but it's not performing well. Consider low-profile options that fit snugly without sacrificing airflow.

If you're not able to install an AIO, I'd recommend the Thermalright AXP-120-X67. Have you got any GPU installed yet? You could opt for a 120mm AIO, or consider a more compact air cooler if needed.

You mentioned a compact design, which likely limits airflow efficiency. It seems the cooler you have is probably insufficient regardless. If you switch to another cooler, it should fit snugly inside while maintaining good airflow. Any system using an air cooler for the CPU relies on internal airflow; if that's already hot, the contents will follow. Adding a few case fans could improve things, and make sure cables and other components don’t block air movement would be wise.

The CPU cooler draws cool air in from outside via the side panel. Additional case fans offer limited benefit. Note: A 280mm AIO would be ideal, provided the GPU matches the case's compatibility.

Considering this, I can swap out the large fans for a radiator with roughly 40mm thickness between the chassis and GPU. Now I need to look for a compatible kit that matches these specifications.

Nope. The 40mm isn't sufficient. I think ultra slim radiators are 45mm, and you'll need another 25mm for the cooling fan. I rechecked the case specs, which only mention compatibility when the GPU isn't running. I'd stick with my first idea for a low-profile cooler.

Make sure the height is just right—don’t go too tall. Avoid loud air disturbances near the panel edges when fans are positioned too near.
