Alphas usually don't, which means we can expect even more exciting developments ahead.
Don't bring up that game again, right? I think it's unlikely the same will happen with Star Citizen either—it's still in alpha—and Chris Roberts mentioned he wants it to look even better than it is now. In reality, the only choices available in the menu are low, medium, high, and very high, but they haven't released the advanced options yet.
Based on the time period he played, there were some loading delays before, but this was when all ships loaded in the game in a corner of the map that you couldn't see because the tech wasn't optimized and it happened faster than loading into video memory. They've already made updates and loading times have been reduced by more than half. It's impressive to see such improvements. I'm eager to see them combine modules, though that's still a long way away.
