Communicating through Discord while playing games.

I'm curious about something unusual. Because my computer has an extremely outdated and weak processor, I’m unable to play games using Discord, as it consistently causes my games to lag. My system includes an Athlon 200GE with only two cores and four threads, and I suspect it might be capable of running some games while Discord is active. My question is: do other users with similarly underpowered processors experience a drop in frame rates when using Discord, or is this solely a problem I'm encountering?

Haha, thank you very much for your incredibly precise response. I received the computer and am now able to play games such as CSGO, Fortnite, Overwatch, and GTA V without any performance issues caused by Discord.
