Really thinking about getting more DDR2 chips? That’s not something you want. A recycling center or repair shop will have plenty available.

I acquired those sticks from damaged school computers, but they came with 1x2GB instead of the expected 2x1GB.

Channel memory wasn't widely known among regular users at the time. At one point, AMD experimented with three-channel configurations.

I've heard about some unusual old P4 boards that could handle dual channel with three sticks. One of them was a larger version, about double the size of the others, but not quite three channels yet. Haha!

You adjusted the clock speed but still faced high error rates—consider refining timing settings.

Reducing memory protection issues cuts errors in half, though it remains significant.

Local forums often feature these gems, though quality varies. eBay and comparable platforms tend to be the top choice. We also have a computer recycler nearby that trades in old components—mostly OEM parts, which is a safer bet than risking damage with a rough approach. My G.Skill PC8500 remains in good shape with my Rampage Formula X48, still functional for XP. These days it's quite rare to find something this specific.
