Command & Dominate Ultimate Set - Windows 8.1
Command & Dominate Ultimate Set - Windows 8.1
I checked for information about problems with the original Command & Conquer titles and related games. Reports suggest some users have encountered issues with C&C, C&C 2, Red Alert, and Red Alert II on Windows 8.1 machines, especially when playing without a virtual machine. It seems these problems may be common among users who run the games directly on their PCs. If you need the games to work, you might look into patches or alternative solutions such as using emulators or virtualization tools.
I checked some online searches, but didn’t find detailed solutions. It looks like running the games in a virtual machine or using older Windows versions (XP/7 SP1) isn’t really helping. I’m curious if compatibility mode could work. Downloading the games seems like a good idea to try them on your system, though it might only be the original versions, which are likely not optimized for newer setups.
I purchased that package, and the games function properly though only at 1680x1050 on my 1920x1200 display. When I attempt it on a 2560x1440 screen, it simply crashes. Odd.
I prefer using Windows 7. I enjoy C&C. I purchased that series twice to express my appreciation for it. Both digital and physical formats are fun!
