It often comes down to your hidden MMR and they were scheduled with the MG1. I've been matched with DMG/LE as a GE recently and faced MGE's. Right now, the teams are still leveling out against the new shift. Even if you have the same MMR and rank in the game, you usually end up with a tough matchup in 16-0 or 0-16 situations.
We still came out on top. Of course, stronger competitors can be impressive, but it doesn't change the outcome. And often the MG opponents we faced were limited to silver boost 3.
