Comcast Upload Speeds?
If it matches what the person mentioned, then it's okay. CenturyLink was promoted on 12/7 and received a 14/0.80 result.
In the Dallas Fort Worth region, the 200 Mb/s plan delivers roughly 200Mbps or about 20 Mbps (25 if you're lucky). Although the download speed is impressive, I prefer Frontier Fios (preferable when you avoid customer service issues), I’m on the 150/150 plan. Typically I see around 175/175 Mbps. It’s worth noting that all my neighbors on my fiber hub have switched to Charter Spectrum recently.
We experienced similar outcomes with CenturyLink at our winter residence in Maplewood, MN, using comparable plans. A representative from their team mentioned that the entire Twin Cities metro region would require around 10,000 miles of infrastructure upgraded to meet current standards. Now with Comcast,
You’re charged roughly the same as cable, but here we skip the $30 box rental. With Hulu you also get a digital DVR—something Comcast would have charged $20 a month for. That saves us a lot of money. In total, with Comcast and Hulu we’re around $103, compared to $160 for just Cable and Internet with Comcast alone. You should consider not only the cable bill but also those extra fees like broadcast TV, sports, and equipment rentals that really raise the overall cost.
I think 15-20 for $150 and 5-10 for $65 makes sense. The package includes 40 up, which matches what I need. It mainly serves as a way to manage spectrum allocation on the shared cable network, at least until symmetrical DOCSIS 3.1 becomes standard.
I received 150 Mbps but only get 10 Mbps officially and 12 with extra capacity. Comcast is really bad for uploads. Competitors such as WOW offer around 50 Mbps on most plans. Officially it’s just 35 Mbps upload on the Gig tier, with more available through over-provisioning. I’ve heard in some areas they’ve expanded spectrum for upstream, so hopefully that will start coming up.
He had a lot of trouble keeping things online and they frequently went down.
