I'm not a big gamer, but I'm thinking about opening hundreds of browser tabs (just kidding). I also want to map drives for Chia coin and use as much RAM as possible. I might consider a 64GB setup for around $300 or opt for a 128GB one for about $800. If this sounds like a good solution, I'm okay saving some money.

For maximum capacity, place the high-capacity drives near the CPU since they handle double the load compared to standard 8 GB sticks. The configuration I proposed ensures each CCX gets an equal share of memory, minimizing data transfer between them. Using a 16-16-16-16-CPU-8-8-8 arrangement would cause significant data movement through the interconnect from left to right CCX, increasing latency.
