I have a Corsair Dominator GT 2GBS and plan to add two 8GB drives. I understand the RAM will match the slowest stick, but I’m open to the change.

Just thinking about it, maybe boost your DDR3 RAM to 3000MHz with a 2V supply? Also, could you clarify what you're looking for? I'm curious about your intent.

Yes, you can install multiple RAM sticks without issues if they match the system requirements.

Mixing rams is unpredictable, there are no assurances. Make sure to share your system details when posting. Older setups might not support 8G rams.

We really don’t have the details, and now you’re just dropping it here? Also, 3000mhz is completely out of the question for x58 unless you push the CPU to near-zero temperatures just because the IMCs are terrible. You don’t even need to boost your RAM, those cheap 2GB models are barely worth it—overclocking might help since there’s no real reason to go below 4GB, unless it’s single-sided or the speeds are way too low. As a guess, it could be a Samsung 2GB chip, pure luck, or better yet, sell those 2GB sticks and upgrade to an 8GB one. If you’re using an x58, aim for three 8GB sticks; otherwise, stick with two 8GB.
