It's generally fine to use rams from the same model and brand, even if they differ in speed. Long-term performance depends more on usage conditions than speed alone.

The device will adjust its speed to match the slower memory module. This works well if the sticks are similar in rate from the start. For example, a 1600 MHz and a 3600 MHz stick won’t run smoothly together.
