the ram in my pc has now reached 8gb at 2666mhz speed. prices were high, but this was the most affordable option i found—129 dollars. i used a gift card to purchase it. i’m considering upgrading to improve gaming performance on vega11. some sites sell 2400mhz ram with only 4gb available, unless you’re willing to pay more for faster speeds. my current ram is 8gb 2666mhz and it’s on a site where i got gift cards. i placed an order on one of those sites, and they matched the price to another listing for 69.99 dollars plus shipping. now it’s 64 dollars plus shipping. i have five days before the price rises again to 109 dollars. should i go with the 8gb 2666mhz model or look for a 4gb 2400mhz option at a lower cost?
You can operate RAM at reduced rates. Using a 2666mhz stick allows you to align with the current 2400mhz stick or attempt to shift the 2400mhz stick to 2666mhz.
It's possible 2666mhz is a mild issue, but there are no assurances.
