I've encountered a friend whose game freezes after about 20 to 30 minutes. Several users with AMD systems have reported the same problem, but online resources offer limited solutions. I'm worried he might need to purchase an Nvidia GPU just to play one title, which isn't ideal. Could anyone else have experienced this and found a workaround? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to include his specs – RAM: 8GB, GPU: AMD R9 280, CPU: i5 4590, PSU: Corsair RM650. No overclocking needed. It doesn't cause overheating and only happens with this game. Also, the black screen isn't a full system crash; it's just the game freezing and showing a blank screen that can be closed, unlike a GPU or driver issue which would stop interaction entirely.

Checking his performance metrics and system details. Looking up RAM usage and overall specs.

I've revised the primary subject, had a chance to consider it earlier.

Could you clarify what you mean? Are you asking about interacting with drivers in a game or something else?

Consider revisiting earlier versions? It seems unlikely to find a fix there. The problem appears to stem from the game itself, as similar issues exist without a solution. If the development targeted AMD GPUs, it would be highly concerning for the creators. We've adjusted graphical settings and increased clock speeds, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

The issues likely began following a driver update, though it could have been after a game update as well.

I think Windows 10 might be the issue. Look into the gw2 forums for reports of problems with Windows 10.

Windows 10 has some issues right now, and AMD has released drivers for it. I’m leaning toward Linux drivers instead of Windows 10 drivers because they seem more reliable. Their Linux drivers are actually quite good, while Windows 10 drivers often have problems.
