Over the last few months my laptop has repeatedly experienced crashes when playing flash videos on platforms like Animefreak or YouTube. The display driver would crash, turn green, and then recover, though I’m certain it wasn’t a real issue since restarting usually fixes it quickly. No files are damaged, and an SSD helps speed things up. Restarting after a crash often resolves the problem temporarily. Recently this has happened more often, especially with AMD Catalyst. I’ve heard disabling hardware acceleration in Catalyst might help, but I’m not sure how to do it. Any advice would be appreciated.

I faced an issue with my NVIDIA card a few months back, mainly related to Flash Player rather than the catalyst. This is why I prefer Chrome—it handles YouTube well and avoids those crashes. Flash is unreliable; you can't really fix it much. Try switching to a different driver version and see if Flash improves. @ KemoKa

I would proceed as follows:
1– Launch the Control Panel, then access the Flash Player section (use the icon view or go to 'System and Security' at the bottom).
2– Press the "Delete All..." option in the Flash panel to erase all cached files.
3– Shut down every web browser you have open.
4– Remove Adobe Flash entirely by using the uninstaller available on the Adobe website. This will delete all remnants.
5– Disable all AMD drivers completely.
6– For Firefox users, turn off add-ons or click the menu, select "?", then "Troubleshoot information" to reset the browser.
7– Wipe out all cookies from your accounts.
8– Restart your computer after completing these steps.
9– Allow Windows to reinstall the graphics card drivers.
10– Open Firefox, verify it’s fully updated, and reinstall Flash from the official Adobe site: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplaye...tion3.html (select the MSI download option).
11– Once finished, Flash should function properly. If issues persist, let me know.

These actions aim to eliminate any lingering conflicts with Flash and AMD drivers. If everything works, you should have a smooth experience. All web browsers can now use HTML5 YouTube, and performance will improve. Chrome is not recommended due to high resource usage, reduced battery life, and privacy concerns. It also collects data across sites, including private browsing sessions, linking it to your Google accounts.

I understand chrome isn’t ideal, but html5 suits me well. It runs smoothly without crashes, unlike chrome which only supports certain video formats and limits features. Battery life is fine on a desktop. I tried keeping firefox as long as possible, but eventually the frequent flash errors made it unbearable—often requiring machine resets. I’m considering giving the fixes you mentioned another shot; I’ll let you know if it helps.
