Combining a 32GB 3200MHz and a 16GB 3000MHz SSD for better performance
I have Corsair-Vengeance-3000MHz installed. I’m checking if I can add Corsair-Vengeance-3200MHz-RGB to my 4-slot motherboard without performance issues. My system is an Intel i7-7700K with a 3060 ASUS Prime Z270-A.
You require 48GB of RAM for advanced applications or large-scale processing. Consider upgrading from your current 2x8GB setup to a more suitable configuration.
You likely require additional memory, which is why you added more RAM. The issue centers on whether your system needs over 32GB of RAM. If yes, using all four sticks would be beneficial, and the performance benefits from any speed penalties will justify it. In the ideal case, it could reach 3000MHz CL16, while in the worst case it might hit JEDEC speeds—both slower than a dedicated 3200MHz setup. If you don’t need more than 32GB, remove the existing sticks. This allows you to operate at the kit’s rated speed of 3200MHz, which will be quicker and simpler to achieve with all four sticks running together.
