Upgrading to an i7 9700K with integrated GPU might work as expected, but if it doesn’t auto-select a dedicated GPU, you may need to adjust BIOS settings. Disabling IGPU in the BIOS could help ensure proper configuration. Many users report similar experiences when switching from CPU-only systems to those with integrated graphics—checking compatibility and updating drivers is key.
Consider delaying the purchase another week or two. An i7-12700k would also be a good option, possibly prompting an upgrade to Windows 11 if possible. It seems the system should automatically detect the GPU, but if not, there might be an issue—like when the power connector wasn’t fully inserted.
Connect the monitor to the GPU, not the IGPU. IGPU is usually turned off by default. You can adjust this in BIOS if needed.
