Combine the RAM sizes.
I encountered several challenges when mixing RAM, such as instability and crashes. In the past, I mixed configurations like 2x1GB+2x2GB (s775 DDR2) or 2x2GB+2x4GB (AM3+ DDR3) without issues. I’m considering a budget 2x4GB kit since I often run low on memory. My current specs include an R7 3800X, a Prime X370-Pro, and a plan to add a 2x8GB or 4x8GB kit at 3000MHz. I’ve read that even with two sticks, some models struggled to hit the advertised speeds at launch, but newer BIOS updates now allow running RAM at 3000MHz. How much would switching from 32GB to 24GB RAM affect my overall performance?
