I've experienced everything normally until recently. I've observed that images and videos display strange colors and artifacts. The timing remains unclear—I haven't adjusted any hardware or settings except for updating my NVIDIA drivers (current version 566.36), which I've done only twice in the past year. No other changes have been made. I'm using this monitor with updated drivers as well. The only solution I can try is enabling HDR on Windows, but that makes the colors too bright and gives a white film-like appearance that won't disappear no matter what I adjust. It's becoming difficult to choose between color issues or a completely washed-out look. This hasn't happened before, so it's unclear if it's software-related or tied to my GPU (3070), monitor, etc. Here are some examples of the problems you described: https://ibb.co/hpSqdry (hair) https://ibb.co/LhSCLqWh (black on face and hair) https://ibb.co/pVrKkJj (hair) https://ibb.co/ymCWV40S (ground) https://ibb.co/r2w1yTjS (all over, faces) A video showing the changes when adjusting a window... Help! Thanks.

HDR on Windows involves many details. Which monitor are you using? Have you calibrated it through the Windows Store app? Are the RTX Video Enhancement options active in the Nvidia Control Panel? What connection method is your display connected to? Is HDR turned on and is 'Auto HDR' enabled? When shifting windows, the local dimming area seems to shift darker blue toward the black.

When using HDR regularly it might indicate a Windows update or a problem with old GPU drivers. If you're testing it now it could be a calibration or setup issue. Driver version 566.36 is not current. Get the Nvidia App from Nvidia's site and install the newest driver. If you already have GeForce Experience, update it to the Nvidia app and install the latest graphics driver. Avoid manual updates unless necessary. Don't neglect graphics driver updates. If you keep facing artifacts or strange graphics problems, run DDU to remove the drivers and programs, then reinstall using the Nvidia app. If issues persist after that, we'll need more troubleshooting steps.

This monitor with automatic dimming disabled is not working properly. I don’t have access to the Windows Store. Where can I find the RTX Video Enhancement settings? I’m using whatever DisplayPort version my monitor supports. I don’t use HDR in Windows and haven’t experienced it before. The only solution that helps is turning it on, but that makes everything too bright and none of the other adjustments work. I haven’t updated Windows since I last installed it, so no updates have been applied. I used DDU to upgrade from version 561.09 to 566.36, but now I’m facing more problems than before—issues affecting not just the new 50 series but also older models like 30 and 40 series. It seems the updates are making things worse rather than better. The problem began recently. There hasn’t been any change in software (NVDA drivers) or hardware. What could be causing this to start happening?

HDR isn't something you can simply enable without adjustment; it requires proper calibration to avoid washed-out colors. It involves fine-tuning contrast between black and white as well as brightness levels. The system will guide you through the HDR Calibration App in the Microsoft Store for optimal setup. If your monitor lacks sufficient contrast, turning off HDR is a good option. My QLED model has struggled with HDR on multiple 'HDR400' screens, often performing worse than standard definition.

Updates often need to be applied. I understand you haven't done any, but the focus should be on whether Windows or driver updates can resolve the problem. If you're unwilling to try them, even for a fix, it's your responsibility. You might consider reinstalling the GPU driver or reverting changes if they worsen. Testing the GPU on another system could also help determine if the hardware is faulty. Good luck.

Right now, the 572.42 update seems preferable, though the problem remains.

I can verify that after the 572.42 update, it remains available.
