Hello everyone,
I just uploaded my main build.
It has a 750 watt Corsair PSU (almost new) and a 4070ti from MSI (new).
When the PSU is under load, I’m hearing coil whine, not the GPU. The PSU seems sufficient for my setup, which includes a Ryzen 5 3600x and no system fans.
I’m curious about what this could mean, but I’m not sure.
Also, here’s some useful information:
Before using my old SF600 PSU, I noticed sparks on the motherboard when trying to power it up. After restarting the PSU, I heard clicks and saw that the fan wasn’t spinning (probably entering protection mode).
I also want to know if the whining disappears over time.
Any suggestions?

Coil whine isn't dangerous or a sign of any problem. It can happen randomly with really any PSU, and there's nothing I'd recommend to do to fix it.
Coil whine is very unlikely to go away with time.
I would just ignore the coil whine if you can, if not try contacting Corsair support.

I don't have a specific Corsair PSU in mind, but I can help identify the model if you provide more details about your system or any additional specifications.
