Code: Warzone Data Packet Surge
Code: Warzone Data Packet Surge
I just started playing this couple of days ago, so far 0 packet loss or 'bursts'. I wonder if this has something to do with how long you play, like a memory leak or something (btw usually you shouldn't need to touch your page file at all) seeing as the game is really badly optimized and obviously handled by very sus people who don't necessarily know what they're doing. Also I'm using ISLC which is specifically designed to prevent stutters and such caused by bad memory management, that could have to do something with it as well.
@Mark Kaine What configurations do you apply on ISLC? I tried it earlier but didn’t notice much improvement. Open to giving it another shot since you suggested the issue might stem from inadequate memory handling in the games. Also, I’m new to ISLC, so I wasn’t very familiar with it. Generally, one shouldn’t need to change pagefile size unless using just a single SSD, which is my case. But given the reported memory leak concerns, it’s possible the game is using a pagefile unexpectedly. Let me know your settings and I’ll try ISLC again tonight!
They advise on the site that you should aim for about half of your system memory, beginning with 1GB. Keep the timer settings unchanged, just allocate half of your RAM to free space. Don’t worry about auto-login—simply click "Start" after setup.
I discovered a fix. (This only worked for me.) I tested everything you suggested—reloading files, editing .ini settings, adjusting graphics options, updating software, disabling and enabling features, changing network settings, forwarding ports, reformatting, inspecting files, checking heating status, installing all possible programs—but nothing resolved it. Today I finally found my own answer. I followed these steps: 1) switched my GPU to another machine completely different from my PC (while keeping my Blizzard account), and the packet burst stopped. BUT!! 2) I returned to my original PC with my weaker GPU, tried my brother’s account, and suddenly it worked. That’s a glitch tied to your own account!
I believe I’ve discovered a lasting fix for this problem on my side! Since the latest season, the game has been crashing because of RAM issues, often showing “Page Fault in Non-Paged Area.” I attempted ISLC but saw no improvement and the crashes continued. Over the weekend I explored the topic further and came across a Reddit discussion (link if you recall). In short, someone mentioned that the auto XMP presets for voltage on their RAM were set too low while running at 3600MHz, leading to stuttering because the RAM wasn’t getting enough voltage. My RAM is rated for 3200MHz, but it made me think that if Warzone experiences such problems, adjusting it might help. So I increased my RAM’s voltage to 1.35v (still within safe limits and I keep monitoring temperatures), and there have been no more crashes. While not a universal fix, it seems like a promising attempt. It could be worth checking your own RAM specs and seeing what others suggest for overclocking from a voltage standpoint. This might actually solve the issue for you. Let me know if it works!
Alright Warzone fans, I’ve found a solution. It involves adjusting your page file size to 2934 out of 8GB, boosting your RAM voltage, and tweaking player settings in the Warzone document. My machine is an x570 Asus TUF with an R5 3600 OC @4500MHz, an RTX 2060 OC @2010, 16GB Vulkan Tforce OC @3200, and my RAM voltage is set at 1.4. The ini settings are 1 - 6 - 1 (GPU memory 1 cores 6). This change has improved playability, though it’s not a perfect fix. Since the game updated, performance has dropped significantly. After some research, this combo reduced stuttering. If you’re using a 20 or 30 series GPU on DirectX 12, avoid DRX11 and don’t use that setting. In Windows settings, pick Quality and Performance, set Vert Sync to Fast, and keep High Quality rendering enabled. I hope this helps some people. If you’re unsure about changing your RAM voltage, just skip it—read up on overclocking first. Understanding your PC is key before making any changes. Read up! It’s not just a trend anymore. Don’t watch YouTube fixes or tamper with the registry. These people don’t care if you mess up your OS—just work with Windows.
Lately the last few hours I've experimented with various things on my PC. I managed to push my CPU to around 4500mhz, which is awesome! My motherboard and Master air are both using the AP620 or whatever fan setting lets me hit the max. Eventually I lowered it back down to 4200mhz, and the issue was fixed—my game runs smoothly now except for internet lag. I'm not sure if my tips helped, but I turned off the Win10 game mode and kept RAM voltage at 1.4. Overclocking to 4.2 warzone works fine now. I tried using Boom3D but it didn’t help much, so I stopped it. I also noticed my sound cuts sometimes, so I turned that off too.
@ArcaPhox and everyone else. I’ve discovered a fully lasting solution for all connection problems in Warzone! Unfortunately, not everyone can easily implement it, but simply switching my ISP made a big difference. I’m willing to share some PingPlotter graphs if you’re interested, but the main issue was with my old provider, Mediacom. Their network faced huge congestion and hardware limitations, plus poor signal quality that they refused to fix due to wiring problems. For most users, latency stayed around 30-40 ms, spiking up to 100-150 or even 300+ during busy times—this happened every 30 to 60 seconds. The problem was at the main connection point and Mediacom’s internal servers. The technician admitted their equipment was overwhelmed by traffic, leading to lag and packet loss in Warzone. Other games might handle these spikes better, which explains why it’s more common in Warzone. Even though some servers still have issues, changing my ISP helped. I moved from Mediacom to CenturyLink, which offers faster speeds. It’s ADSL, not cable or fiber, but it’s significantly quicker—averaging 14ms with occasional 18ms spikes. Since switching, I’ve played Warzone without any problems and even saved money compared to my old plan. If you’re facing similar issues, this change might be worth considering!
Thanks for the update. I’ve looked at all the solutions shared here except this one. I also use Mediacom and have my own cable modem. It seems I might just need to switch to Consolidated internet in my area. I’m also unsure because my current speeds with Mediacom are 300 down and 30 up, while Consolidated’s top packet speed is 80 down and 5 up. This worries me a bit but I hope it works out. I just want to fix these packet bursts so I can actually enjoy the game. Interestingly, Mediacom experienced an outage a few months ago—before that I had no issues at all. After the disruption, I’ve faced constant packet problems, which is really frustrating.
