Is this motherboard reliable? The price is around $360, but many reviews rate it around 3.5/5. Some users mention issues like freezing after a few months, while others praise its performance with an i9 up to 5.2 or 5.3 speeds. Considering you're using an i5 9600K, it might still work but could benefit from a more stable build.
I owned a system for my last Christmas featuring a 9900k + Titan V (then Titan RTX) setup. It had a limited VRM compared to most Z390 boards, but I managed a smooth daily 5.2ghz all-core overclock. Still, the heat from those VRMs could cause issues eventually (I only used it for seven months). Now that I'm building a new gaming rig, I chose the Maximus XI Extreme because of its improved VRM layout and enhanced cooling.
I prefer stable performance over high speeds and avoid any issues while playing games.
According to what I understand, the Code, Formula and Hero are essentially the same board, just with various additions, connectors, and ports. Within that category, you should choose the one that meets your requirements. Overclocking isn’t very strong here, but long-term gaming stability is something I’m not familiar with. However, a 9600k speed shouldn’t be an issue.
