Hello, new member here and like most, I’m just trying to figure out a solution.
As mentioned, the Brother HLL3270CDW worked one day before it started giving the "print unable 02" error. I don’t use it much since it still had or has the starter toner inside. I thought maybe that was the cause.
It’s now six months past its warranty, and Brother didn’t assist at all.
The problem isn’t severe—just minor. It powers on when the error appears, but doesn’t go through the "warm up" process. You usually hear parts moving, but it doesn’t. It won’t produce a test sheet either.
I checked the left side (the one facing you) for loose wires, stripped gears, or any obvious issues, but nothing stands out as broken. There’s a motor that spins freely, and no component seems to block smoke release. I’m sure I might have missed something.
Hopefully, someone can tell me exactly what’s going wrong.

Yes, and there are many similar attempts. I tried this and got nothing but disappointment.

Reach out to Brother; they might be open to servicing it at a fair price. However, keep in mind the expense is important, so request a solid estimate before deciding whether to swap it out.

I was sent to a service center. It costs $45 just to check, $90 or more to fix plus parts. At that price it's almost not worth it. Also, I have to drive 120 miles. Definitely not worth shipping. That would be too much for sure.
