I own an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 EXTREME and purchased 128 gigabytes of G-Skill 6400 DDR5 memory. Despite that, I’m still facing the same problem where installing four sticks only locks me into Q-Code 31. I was expecting a solution or workaround for this issue. Have you ever discovered a way to bypass this error? I know the card has four DIMM slots and supports up to 128 gigabytes of DDR5, but I’m not satisfied with ASUS if their board won’t work with my other $400 worth of RAM. This should be one of the top-tier ASUS boards I can buy, yet it doesn’t perform as advertised. Any advice or insights would be really helpful. Thanks, Phreak.
My problem started when I upgraded my computer from the 12th generation to the 13th generation. I wanted to simply transfer the SSD without reinstalling Windows, but the new system rejected the old drivers, forcing me to reformat the SSD and perform a fresh Windows installation.
Hey, I see you're having trouble with your PC. You mentioned using a 13900KF 4090 and four 32GB DDR5 Corsair Dominator drives. It seems like the system boots but only works with two sticks, not four. A 5-year-old might think it's about the number of sticks or maybe the drivers need updating. Have you tried checking the BIOS settings or reinstalling the drivers? Also, make sure your power supply is solid and all cables are secure. If it still doesn’t work, there might be a hardware issue.
Hello, I recommend creating a separate thread to increase visibility. Have you checked the variables for two sticks? Possible options: 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 2-3, 2-4, 3-4. It’s possible one of them is faulty and the Quad Channel won’t allow posting.
