It occurs with every CoD. When you hit the same weapon in your main or backup slot, it merges the ammunition from the ground weapon into one of your guns. That’s why you can’t grab it. It’s a consistent issue.

Thank you for your assistance. I'm relieved it's not me or my card, even though it was running at 40fps on 1080p. The game quality still isn't great! Long live COD Black Ops.

Ensure your GPU uses the newest available drivers. BOIII isn't working well at all—it heavily drains CPU, GPU, and memory. Running under 16 GB RAM likely contributes to poor frame rates. Another concern is texture detail; it appeared broken on launch day, and enabling "extra" settings caused problems. Switching to "high" resolved the issue. I'm using a SLI 970 with a 4790k OC'd at 4.8GHz, 24GB RAM at 2400MHz, and maintain 120-144 FPS in surround mode at 1080p. The game now runs smoothly after the latest update. Just verify your GPU drivers and consider upgrading if you have more than 8 GB RAM. It's frustrating since this is the only game that consumes so much memory.

Absolutely, it's quite poorly tuned. On high settings, the system can still run smoothly at 110 FPS using an AMD FX-4300, 8GB RAM, and a GTX 780.
