I have to say after supporting COD I’m feeling a bit let down with COD III—it’s not as smooth as I expected, especially missing the ability to pick up weapons. Or am I playing it wrong? My EVGA GTX780 seems outdated; maybe I should upgrade my card for Chrimbo? Any advice would be helpful?

You can collect weapons from the ground, I've seen this in videos for effect. The game seems a bit flawed for all of us, and it's not your PC's responsibility.

COD's on PC often lacked good optimization, but your 780 is a strong high-end card.
