Hey there! Welcome! I’m new to networking and hardware, so please forgive any simple questions. I recently assembled my first PC and am thinking about streaming, but my Wi-Fi keeps fluctuating—spiking and dropping. It’s really frustrating. My router is on the other side of the house, about 40 feet away, and it doesn’t have an Ethernet port. I checked the box upstairs (it has coax for internet and TV), but no Ethernet slot visible. Any ideas on routers that work with coax? Or maybe a method to add an Ethernet connection? Also, my speed is currently 75Mb/s via Verizon Fios. Thanks all!

You’ve secured Fiber internet and congratulations on winning a free connection Big Grin. The "Box" refers to an ONT, the coaxial feed from which should be divided for each TV and the Moca Router Verizon uses. You have several choices: first, check if Verizon will enable the Ethernet port on your ONT—likely if you have 100Mbps or higher, they switch to Ethernet rather than coax. Second, purchase a wireless access point that can connect to an Ethernet port on your Moca router; this should work in various locations around your home. Third, you could attempt to use the Moca router directly with your computer. I’m not entirely sure if two adapters are necessary since the router also supports Moca. In short, you won’t find a coax router available for purchase. I’ve only heard from a handful of providers about this setup. Also, avoid confusing Moca routers with Docis Cable modems—these won’t function.
