Sure! To restore the CMD default settings in Windows 8, open Command Prompt and run the command to reset the registry. Make sure you back up your settings first.

Check the directory path you intended. It could be C:\ or %userprofile% depending on your environment.

You might be able to recover your customizations. Running it with admin access could help restore them.

A screenshot would help. By default, what settings are active? Are you referring to the Command Prompt? Does restarting it not solve your issue?
