So there's some new service called Paperspace, thats advertising that you can play games through cloudbased virtual desktops for a service fee. https://www.paperspace.com/gaming what do you guys think?
Noticing some issues here, 60fps gaming? Think about using a home network Steam Link—local connection (no ISP interference)—but it might still face some delays and lag.
It seems intriguing. I’m not familiar with cloud gaming, but it offers a more capable setup.
Well, like any other service, their advertising leaves things out. Like the fact that its only available from 2 US servers, California and New York. That and 10Mbs recommendation for network will still make this thing to see in future. Latency will be pain if you are somewhere in between servers. So waiting Jay or someone living in CA to test this service to see if it works or not. I get 150 ping to NY, so no-go for me.
The 60FPS claim is feasible. High-quality 1080p streams run at 60 frames per second regularly. The challenge with cloud gaming lies in latency. If users assume 10ms input delay is problematic...
