This tutorial explains how to use free cloning tools like DiskGenius, focusing on the OS migrate feature that lets you copy partitions straight to another drive without saving them first. Afterward, whether you migrate directly or create an image first, you’ll need to adjust system restore points if they were set up earlier. You might wonder if BitLocker is necessary—most everyday users likely don’t require it, as it can cause complications and potential data loss if activated unexpectedly.

I discovered that the optimal method for cloning a drive using Macrium Reflect is creating a perfect 1:1 copy of your boot drive. After launching with the cloned drive, you can expand partitions to utilize the extra space. You might also try Windows disk manager for enlarging partitions, though it doesn’t support shrinking. Good luck!

The 1TB is from the newer model, while the original drive is the 256GB unit.

It seems the disk was copied correctly. Now you need to give it a drive letter, extend the partition again, and insert it into your laptop.

It looks like there might be a conflict between your cloned drive and its original source, and it's currently offline. You could try putting it back in the laptop to resolve the issue.

Corsair offers its own set of tools for cloning drives. Users may want to explore these options. If a program isn’t available, creating a partition could be necessary.

You’re restarting your laptop by choosing a boot method or pressing a BIOS key. Your Corsair drive is set as the boot option but it keeps restarting.

I don’t even reach the window boot—it’s just a dark screen.
