Clock speed of the Ryzen 5 3600 is 3.6 GHz.
Just wanted to check the ideal clock speed for my Ryzen 5 3600 during those tasks. It seems it fluctuates between 2.4 and 3.9 GHz depending on what you're doing—browsing, streaming, searching, etc. I thought a lower speed around 2.0 or 2.5 would be better, especially since the base clock is 3.6 GHz and it goes up to 4.2 GHz when gaming.
I checked because my PSU failed and I swapped it out. I think the clock speeds were a bit slower before, and I’m curious if that’s connected.
If the power supply affected the CPU, it would stop functioning entirely. It's typical for the clock speed to fluctuate during regular operations.
The CPU is new, but the case emits a strange plastic-like odor when the PC runs. I’ve seen this with older cases too, and even after switching to a cooler case that lowers temperatures by 20°C, the smell remains. Could you clarify what you mean by "weird plastic-ish chemical type"?
Hey everyone, I have a similar setup with a Ryzen 3600 and my boost clocks rarely exceed 4.1GHz, even during gaming. I ran Blender render and it reached around 4.1GHz but stayed in the 4.05–4.1GHz range most of the time. I turned on PBO, but it didn’t help much. Anyone have any tips or alternatives?
