Clock speed limited at maximum performance
Clock speed limited at maximum performance
A few days back I swapped the cooler on my Ryzen 5 5600X from the built-in one to a Deepcool AK620. When I powered on my PC, the clock speed dropped from the stock level (which I never overclocked) to being limited at 0.52 max under full load. The temperatures stayed within normal ranges across all apps, never exceeding 30 degrees. A note: the hardware monitor confirms the same, and the machine actually feels like it's running around half a GHz. I adjusted the BIOS settings, tried enabling it, reset the CMOS a few times, but nothing worked. I'm really puzzled about this issue and was hoping for some advice. Thanks.
Sure, I didn’t want to spend $70 on the cooler either. Upgrading was definitely worth it!
