You're aware of that problem, right? In games like Baldur's Gate 3, switching characters by clicking on the portrait usually doesn't work as expected. Sometimes it feels like the click turns into a drag instead of a proper selection. I found it frustrating because I wasn’t clicking fast enough and thought it was just a minor glitch. It makes the whole experience feel a bit sluggish, especially since I’m used to using computers. Do you think there’s a way to adjust the mouse behavior in the registry or use some third-party tools to fix this?
Mostly my trusty old Logitech G9x but I've had several gaming mice from other brands over the years and it was all the same with those. It's not the mouses fault. In BG3 or Windows for that matter I even get the click animation, so it does register properly. It just won't do the appropriate action, likely because I'm moving the mouse away too quickly and there's already slight mouse movement while clicking. A delay before it would initiate a drag of half a second would probably fix that.
Check your display settings for high resolution and see how the cursor moves on Windows.
Reducing DPI while increasing cursor speed maintains the same mouse velocity but lessens sensitivity to minor gestures. This could offer more tolerance for tiny clicks.
