Hey, I'm trying to connect my Siemens HMI 4000 comfort panel running Win CC. It doesn't support remote access, and the TIA Portal isn't working because I don't have the original project files. There seems to be no way to control it remotely, but I can use a USB connection with a mouse. I need a physical device that's self-contained and hardware-based. It's not very sleek, but I just need to click something on the screen to reset it—saving me from hours of manual work. My main PC is on the other side.

The PiKVM or another IP KVM system can handle this task, offering virtual mouse and keyboard functionality, monitor visibility, and control via a web browser.

I was looking for something simple to use. The Raspberry Pi and similar devices made me think twice about how to figure things out. I’m not very familiar with them. I just wanted a smart switch that works out of the box, no hassle.

Other IP KVMs are available too, but they’ll cost a lot more. You can purchase a ready-to-use PiKVM that you simply connect and set up; it’s not overly complicated unless you’re constructing it yourself. They come with thorough documentation addressing any concerns. That kind of setup is likely the most practical choice, and I don’t know of another device offering a virtual mouse like an IP KVM—PiKVM offers the best value for money.
